FAQ's

Q1. Can I register as a single player during the tournament?
A1.

You can add yourself to a waiting list. Most teams are sponsored by, and identified by, their employer company. If your company does not have a team already registered in the tournament, why not organize one! It's a great tournament for a great cause. Go to our Players section for more details on team TEAM FEES and our REGISTRATION section for a registration form. Or contact Tim Costigan tim.costigan@baystreethoops.com

Q2. How does a team determine what level they are in the tournament?
A2. We have a system by which you "self-rank" - are you beginners to the game? Did 3 of your players start in last year's NCAA Sweet Sixteen? Somewhere in-between? We will help you slot into the right division that
will match the skill level of your players and those that you will face on the other teams.
Q3. Can other people from different companies play as one team?
A3. Sure, just name the team and let us know who gets the tax receipt.
Q4. Can women and men play on the same team?
A4. While there will be 2 women's divisions, there is no restriction for women playing in the "men's divisions" (there have been several in the past who have done so - including one in the top men's division) but there is a
restriction on men in the women's division - no go guys!
Q5. Who can watch the tournament and do they have to pay?
A5. Anyone can watch the tournament for free from the sidelines. However, spectator seats are not set up and space is limited - don't be discouraged though... we have never had to turn anyone away - always room for the team's fans.
Q6. How does the ladder system work?
A6. Each team is guaranteed 3 games during the round-robin play of the tournament - one game on each of Thursday and Friday evenings and then one more game on Saturday morning. The top 4 teams from each division will then go on to the playoff round with a semi-final and then final championship game.
Q7. When is the deadline for registering my team?
A7. March 14, 2007
Q8. What are rules of play during the tournament?
A8. For complete Rules and Regulations, please go to RULES AND REGULATIONS
Q9. Are there prizes and awards for the winning teams?
A9. Yes, the team winning each division (4 men's and 2 women's) receives a trophy for that honour. Also, each player on the winning team receives a prize as well (traditionally, it has been a brand new pair of New Balance shoes and some other neat stuff). There are also prizes for the winners of our 3-Point shoot out and miscellaneous prizes for MVPs etc
